Over 35 Years Experience

Russell Anderson (Rusty) has a B.S. Degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, where he was awarded the “James M. White”  prize for construction technology in architecture.

Rusty’s work experience began as a laborer in the areas of concrete, masonry and painting.  During college and thereafter, he worked as a mechanical draftsman working on electrical power plant drawings.

Later on, Rusty joined a Chicago area based general contractor as an estimator and project manager.  A highlight of that position was a two year assignment in Titusville, Florida where he was the general trades superintendent and project manager for the construction of a cruise missile plant for McDonnell-Douglas Corporation.

Over his career, Rusty has been an on-site project manager, field superintendent, office estimator, negotiator, and project manager.  His breadth and depth of field and office experience are invaluable in estimating, scheduling and cost containment.

In 1990 Rusty joined Staalsen as a lead estimator and project manager with a focus in the area of out of ground and design-build projects.  Rusty’s extensive experience also includes building additions, renovations and remodeling.
